Vincent Dugast is a painter and photographer born in Nantes in 1970. He lives and works in Paris.
From 1990 to 1996, he studied at the Plastic Arts University of Rennes II and obtained a doctoral degree. After that, he studied art history and philosophy of art from 1996 to 1998 at Rennes II and Paris I La Sorbonne.
Since the early 90s, his practice (painting, drawing, photography) is a permanent dialogue between materials, gesture and "Idea": a relationship between the spectator and the work of art. In his work, there are interactions between: paper and pigments, tools and gesture, spirit and feeling.
