Ali Hadi Ibrahim aka ARTALI is a painter who lives in Saint-Malo, France.
Ali Hadi Ibrahim was born in 1957 from Kurdish parents in central Iraq. In 1963, he settled down in Baghdad with his family, then emigrated to Europe in 1976. He discovered modern art in Italy and studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. Between 1984 and 1989, the artist got interested in Sufism and the semiotics of an image. He has a bachelors degree in Visual Arts and Philosophy.
In 1992, he moved to Brittany and obtained the French nationality. In 2002 he opened a gallery in St Malo: the Artali Gallery. Ali Hadi participates in various Kurdish painter exhibitions around Europe. In 2007, he was invited to the World Language Festival in Brest where the Turkish language and culture were in the limelight. For this occasion, he created two poetic banners.
His work is known for its colorful abstract painting where shapes are juxtaposed and overlapped, highlighting the material and dynamics of surfaces.
