Léa Barbazanges studied at Ecole nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Strasbourg. The artist's work borders minimalism and experimentation. She uses raw materials like ink and marble but also organic objects to create aerial work. Therefore, it's difficult to see the complexity at first glance.
Leah Barbazanges uses many techniques especially accumulation, repetition and juxtaposition. For most of her works, the artist prefers to use only one material, so as to highlight the features and create autonomous areas. As they have their own original composition, depending on their characteristics, the materials have a graphic, translucent or colored look.
Through these materials, Lea Barbazanges questions the perception of these infinitely small objects. She wants to reveal the grandeur of these tiny things in the nature. She highlights the ephemeral side of the materials used and their fragility, though she manages to give them a long lasting look.
