Born in 1956 - France
Bénédicte Montier was born in Paris in 1956. She is a French sculptor who lives and works in Sologne.
Bénédicte Montier has always been attracted by art, as demonstrated by her professional career. She worked during ten years in the world of auctions before devoting herself to interior decoration for more than five years, she then worked at a painting restoration studio in Paris.
She finally left the French capital, to settle in the center of France and teach sculpture. Alongside her work as a teacher, she practiced painting and followed a formation in ceramics and raku technique. She became passionate about this ancient method of Japanese ceramics, which combines technical precision and chance, so she finally decided to specialize herself in Raku technique.
Bénédicte Montier gets inspired by her daily life to create representations of common and contemporary objects such as a tube of paint or a shoe.
