Martes Bathori, whose real name is Mathias Robert is a French artist born in 1970. As a teenager, his curiosity pushed him towards the Danube, then the Rhine at the foothills of the Drachenfels. Currently, he lives and works in Paris.
A multi-faceted artist, he is at the same time sculptor, creator of stained-glass windows, author, draftsman, ceramist painter. His first work, Mister Q. VS Djakarstadt, was published by Seuil in January 2004. This graphic novel with a particularly successful Expressionist atmosphere will be followed in 2005 by Hamgrad Utopia Porcina in the Hammer Sharks and then in 2009 by Dr More O's Island By the same publisher.
A great traveler, Martes Bathori retransmits in his notebooks numerous sketches of towns which he has frequented during his various peregrinations.
In September 2012 Martes Bathori has exhibited her drawings in La Belle de Mai in Marseille.
