Presentation

Born in France in 1970, Chrystelle Zacchero, post- graduated in Plastic Arts (Sorbonne, Paris) and studied at the Beaux-Arts School of Paris and Berlin in the 90s. She then worked in an artists' collective workshop in Kreutzberg.

The work of Chrystelle Zucchero limits itself, apparently, to painting in two dimensions; nevertheless her art integrates a third dimension: the depth, the space, the psyche, the time, the action, the memory and the projection.

Her art is a movement, which oscillates between two spaces that are separated in an artificial and abstract way, a political space and a psychic space. This movement is the movement of a spiral which turns and breaks in unconscious, as it reveals itself at the individual's and in the politics: suffering, trauma, repetition, trauma, suffering.

Artistically influenced by Michel Journiac, Francis Bacon, Jean Rouch and the Viennese situationists, and, of course, Vladimir Vélikovik whose pupil she was. She is also intellectually influenced by CG Jung and Hannah Arendt as well as by the concept of resiliency developed by Boris Cyrulnik.

"My artistic approach conjugates the necessary re-appropriation of the unconscious to become a full being (Jung) and the activity of the thought for the essential capacity of judgment. "

Chrystelle Zacchero lives and work since 2010 in Graces in Brittany, France.
