Born in 1926 - France
Marc-Antoine Bissière, was born in 1926 and died in 2012, he was a French painter and engraver known under Louttre B.
He was the son of Roger Bissière, and left Paris with him in 1930 to settle in Boissiérette. Over there, he worked in the fields and the woods and learned how to paint next to his father. In 1944, two years after his first canvas, he exhibited at the Galerie de France under the name of Antoinre Bissière. But in the context of international conflict, he left in May for the maquis. After the war, Louttre came back to work with his father. This period was particularly creative since both artists exchanged their ideas and influenced each other mutually.
The artist left for Paris in 1949, where he became a house painter while realizing his own work of art. His work was appreciated by contemporaries which opened him the doors of the gallery Pierre Loeb and Jeanne Bucher, as well as the Salon des Réalités Nouvelles.
It is only from the 1960's that the artist experimented engraving on lino and wood in intaglio, accompanied in this experience by his friend Marcel Fiorini. He went back to Boissiérette in the 60's. During this period he gradually came back to figuration and realized very modern canvases in their technique as his famous series of sand painting.
In the 70's, he developed a printing technique allowing him to create monumental engravings, that he will continue to improve until his death.
Internationally recognized, he notably participated in the engraving Biennale of Tokyo and the triennial of Grenchen in Switzerland, and exhibited in international art galleries. He has also realized several works, monumental sculptures, and often public orders.
