Presentation

Martine Dinet is a French painter born in 1951.

Originally from Reims, Martine Dinet lives in the region of Ardennes and moves between Champagne and Provence.

After having painted for a long time at the Beaux Arts in Reims, it is due to her lucky encounter with a painter in Montmartre in 1992, the she began working and improving her technique in the workshop for many years.

An uncluttered style, with a monochrome palette, she amazes everyone through her unfinished human body representation, leaving gaps so that the spectator is free to decide and play around with his own imagination and reinvent the parts.

She uses crumpled paper as her background, glued and imbued with a faded juice, her strong modern touch manages to capture the light and give depth to the painting.

She develops the theme and the body gestures, playing around with curves, combining soft monochrome to graphic violence through lines. She isn't open about it but sometimes hints an "apology of the unfinished".
