Presentation

Michel Campistron is a French photographer and painter, born in 1960. Famous during the 70's as specialist in bullfighting photography, he simultaneously worked as a painter. But it was only after twenty years of painting, that he began to exhibit his work.

In his paintings, fluidity often opposes the material in a harsh manner, but it also emanates a dark atmosphere, allowing him to claim affiliation to the Catalan and Spanish School of Tapies, Millares, Saura or Valdes. His research turned towards transforming things and beings who were faced with a test pertaining to time and wounds.

Campistron is present in the collection of the Arthotèque de Gondrin, he was among the artists who were invited at Chemins d'arts in Armagnac but also at the Cultural center in Agen in 2012 and did a retrospective exhibition at the Flaran Abbey. His work is visible in France but also abroad like in Florence, Barcelona and Madrid.
