Jean-Jacques Gendron

Born in 1956 - France

BIOGRAPHY

Born in 1956, Jean-Jacques Gendron is a French painter.

During his childhood, Jean-Jacques Gendron was strongly influenced by his great-grandfather, a painter who lived in the Ile de Ré. He started painting and drawing at a young age by reproducing the images of illustrated books. Without stopping his painting practice, he began a military career.

Jean-Jacques Gendron experiences with and is inspired by Flemish and Dutch works, working with pigments of carnauba wax. His study focuses on the representation of movement and of mood. He makes his pieces with a brush and a knife and uses watercolors as well. He particularly appreciates this new technique because of the element of chance that it includes.

His experience as a military led him to participate in many humanitarian activities in Chad and Lebanon. His journey is an unlimited source of inspiration for the artist. In recent years, Jean-Jacques Gendron started painting seascapes again. Hyper realistic paintings that demonstrate the incredible technical skills that the artist masters today. The principal subject of his compositions is the representation of wave motion and of the powerful swell, which is very typical of the region of Brittany.

Jean-Jacques Gendron' works has been exposed since 1990 and has been very successful in France.
