Before being a self-taught painter, Sophie Ong worked in the fashion industry. This is the reason why one can see a sensual and feminine atmosphere in her work, even though she left fashion a long time ago, it still remains a source of inspiration.
Sophie Ong's many travels are another source of inspiration in her creation, they give the artist rich and colorful vocabulary, from several different horizons.
Sophie Ong tries to express extremely intimate feelings but also universal emotions, as everybody is familiar with this. Each of her canvases are light and intense.
Sophie Ong doesn't experiment with only one technique or material, on the contrary, shes likes to particularly work with wood, due to its warm aspect and acryclic due to its luminous effect.
