Marc Bouchacourt is a French painter.
He did his training at Ecole Boulle and Beaux-Arts. Marc began his career as graphic designer. In the 90's, he turned towards painting.
Initially, Marc addressed painting in a traditional manner, focusing his artistic research on portraying movement. When he was confronted with a drawing of a dragon, with a single ink stroke, he realizes the meaning of artistic freedom. He very well understands that in order to achieve a perfect balance between the material and subject, one needs to unleash oneself from the academic stroke. He met the master, Shanshan SUN who taught him the four basic techniques of Chinese calligraphy.
While he was once again immersed in material research, he decided to mix the various techniques to achieve all kinds of color shades. Marc addresses themes to do with nature and seasons in order to study harmonious change, colors that he was able to observe and memorize, before painting them in his workshop.
