Philippe ASSALIT

Born in 1965 - France

BIOGRAPHY

Philippe Assalit was born in Tarn. He has been working as a photographer since 1985 and he lives today between Paris and Gers.

Having studied science, he took an interest in the human face and body; he works with themes such as the intimate and the universal, the animal and the human, the energy of what makes us Human.

His portraits and self portraits allow him to explore the human condition, the humanity shaped by its environment that it also gives shape.

In his series ?Monnaies & Têtes? (Money and Faces), the pictural and sculptural appearance of the portraits is suprising to the viewer: the ?photographic sculptures? question us and open up for a dual interpretation.
