Presentation

Deuxben de Rennes is a French artist born in 1978. Even if he is originally from Nice, he works on the streets of Rennes as his pseudonym suggests.

Self-taught since 1992, Deuxben de Rennes focuses in bringing color to the eyes of everybody. First through graffiti, then through graphism and recently through collage, which he is passionate about. He sticks colorful characters on the streets, to be more precise, on the walls. Deuxben de Rennes tries to decorate the fallow areas of the cities that he visits.

During the era of the stickers, Deuxben de Rennes made his characters speak through bubbles and through short messages. Today, his filiform characters displayed on the streets communicate through symbols, atypical looks and tattoos. His characters all look alike and they differentiate from each other for their clothes and by what they want to show to others through their accessories. Not saying anything special to incite the passerby to meditate and reflect about his pieces, that is what Deuxben de Rennes truly seeks with his illustrations.

Deuxben de Rennes' drawings are made by hand, rigorous, meticulous, precise and graphically detailed. Indeed, the pattern here is used as a bridge between reflection and meditation.

After having done more than 500 stickers, 25 of them in posted large formats and a participation at the festival "Banc Public" of Saint Brieuc, the logic and conventional in the era of time was to expose his pieces on-site in order to counteract the ephemeral side of the street, the ravages of time and the indelicacy of some poster designers.
