Jaw was born in Reims, France in 1982, but grew up in Algeria until the age of 7. He discovered graffiti and drawing at 15, and from there the way into graduate studies in Visual Communication, Graphic Design and Illustration at AxeSud, Marseille naturally followed.
He joined the artist collective DMV (DaMentalVaporz) in 2003, and they quickly became one of the most influential groups in France in their field. With them his work and his style evolved, and he started to exhibit in galleries. He participated in his first group exhibition in Paris in 20015, and in 2010 his paintings were integrated in a large American collection.
Gradually his style of work evolved from Graffiti; on canvas, destructurating his compositions, established surprising movements on flat surfaces. Today his mastered style and technique make him one of the relevant artists of his generation.
