Ariane Baffie is from Capbreton. She worked at Airbus for a long time. When her father died in 1998, she decided to devote herself to painting. She moved to Toulouse then to Gers, where she currently lives.
Ariane Baffie uses the oil painting technique. Until 2006, her work was stripped down: the body with bewitching curves, animated by a ubiquitous movement. The artist wanted to "get to the bottom of every single aspect, in order to better understand her work". However, 2006 onwards, she felt the need to shape the body even more and combine suggestion with expression.
In 2009 and 2010, she gave birth to her two children and this gave her the visceral need to express her feelings through painting, and bring along a new sense of dynamism to her work.
She has exhibited in several galleries around France.
