Didier Hillion is a French artist and photographer, born in Paris in 1962. He began photography during the 80's with his first photo series, drawing inspiration from his many travels in East Africa, Thailand and Northern Europe. After a bad patch of 10 years, he resumed photography during early 2000's.
His style is torn between the city and nature, human and animal, as he's always on the look out for a successful composition, at times geometric and has a distinct taste for black and white, which are included in many of his series like « Histoires de chats », then « Passions de l’âme », an artistic work on water reflections.
According to him, photography is necessary creation, it is a way to reflect that allows him to put the mundane issues in perspective. He treats photography as a reflection of his own emotions and state of mind during a precise moment. He feels the need to be at the heart of the action, to feel the subtleties and pass them on through his photos. He considers his approach as abstract and poetic.
