Georges Wakhévitch is a French set designer, decorator and costume designer born August 18, 1907 in Odessa (Ukraine), died February 11, 1984 in Paris. He has created several hundred sets for cinema, theater, opera and ballet Georges Wakhévitch is the father of composer Igor Wakhévitch, known in particular for his collaborations with choreographer Carolyn Carlson at the Paris Opera between 1973 and 1978 , edited by Rolf Liebermann. In 1985, the municipality of Louviers acquired a lot of gouaches and paintings by decorator Georges Wakhévitch, selected by the auctioneer, during a posthumous sale of his works at the Hôtel Drouot (specified in the catalog of the exhibition). This set of studies for sets and costumes is no longer presented to the public. Models of his sets and costumes are also kept in the Performing Arts department of the National Library of France.
