Dorothée Richard

Dorothée Richard is a French artist, she graduated from the Fine Arts schools in Le Havre and Rouen. She lives and works in Lyon.

Dorothée Richard works on mundane objects, those objects whose presence isn't really noticed as they are integral part of our lives. Dorothée Richard transforms their obvious mundane nature into poetry. With the help of felt-pens, a medium which she uses them massively, she depicts everyday mediums: a desk, a kitchen, a sink, public transport, a house, a roof...At first glance, these elements seem insignificant, but in fact they reveal a lot about us and our physical appearance.

Thanks to Dorothée Richard, we can observe our mundane life through a new angle. The latter takes up a while new meaning for us, a meaningful one.
