Presentation

Wyart & Solomon are a duo, a collaboration between Remi Wyart and Jeremie Solomon. Remi Wyart is a draftsman and an illustrator, born in 1983. Jeremie Solomon is a draftsman, engraver and exhibition commissioner, born in 1991.

Remi Wyart is mainly interested by the human nature. Human comedy is represented in the form of images, paintings and drawings, A range of grotesque and touching characters, who seems to be part of a vital momentum. Emotions are caricatured, for the spectator. However, Jeremie Solomon draws inspiration from his passion namely graphic arts and Belgian symbolic masters. His etchings recreate the gloomy iconography, and stage repeated themes like dance of the dead, wild sabbath.

The partnership of these two artists lead to meaningful paintings, where black humor and delicious irony combine with the urge to make the spectator question. References with our history and current society accumulate, forcing the latter to become complicit with a denounced reality and/or a mockery twist.
