Pierre Fulcrand

Born in 1914 in Montpellier, Pierre Fulcrand joins the Fine Arts in Paris, where he installed a small workshop in the years 30.

At the outset, it undertakes figurative tables a little wise, then he opted for the abstraction and withdrew to Eygalieres. Here, everything changes: the movement becomes a whirlwind creative and color exploded on the entire surface of the canvas.

Its work is based on a subtle balance between the formalism and what he calls the fieriness: ""For me, the suffering, it is the form. That is why I put the fieriness of first. The construction has just then, more easily, in the second position. I have a love for the double hitches. The colors can hit or slam with the tone of the canvas, the forms can be at once flexible and harsh, multiple ... like life"".

Pierre Fulcrand knows assemble elements contrary: brutality and sweetness, composition constructed surface and instinctive, colors which oppose or complement each other.

But the wire conductor of his work that is the fieriness presented in his works. Main concern of the artist, it is also the main quality of ?works on this colorist painter. We could even see a link of distant kinship with the eastern calligraphy, see even with the Street Art today.

Important Figure in the lyrical abstraction, Pierre Fulcrand has long been exposed to the galleries Dauberville and Bernheim, prior to withdraw to Eygalieres or he created his most beautiful heads of works.
