Famous for his black and white images, Bernard Matussière is an important figure in the world of French photography. He lives and works in Paris. At the age of 12, he hold his first Rolleiflex in his hands, and at 16 he started working as an apprentice at the laboratory of the ELLE magazine. Two years later, he became a photographer for Emile Muller. Some years after, he moved to Japan and started working as an assistant of Japanese photographer Yoshiro Tatsuki. Once back in Paris, he started doing advertising photography where he had great success.

Bernard Matussière works for prestigious advertising campaigns: Aubade, Levis, Peugeot, Renault, Chanel, Jourdan, TF1, Canal +, Barbara, Dim, EDG... In parallel, he does a more personal work, directing reportages throught an organization of surgeons called "The Chain of Hope". The photographer has published numerous books ( "Photography" in 1993 and "Mésaventures du Paradis" with professor Eric Orsenna). Several galleries (New York, Paris...) and fairs (FIAC Paris) exposes his works in exhibitions.
