Coun is a French artist born in Nice in 1987. He studied at the school of design and crafts of Italy, in Turin. After several experiences in the milieu, he decided to turn towards art, particularly sculpture.
Drawing his inspiration from the artistic environment of his region especially from the Carnaval of Nice, his use of paper as main material its obvious for him. Coun uses a technique of molding the material directly on the sculptures that he does with clay. A technique used before 1950, and then abandoned for more simple methods, which allows him to create sculptures with a perfect and smooth finish after long hours of work.
Careful about using natural and recycled products, Coun combines jute wire with paper, creating this way a subtle game between the gloss of the paint and the satin of the fiber. An association that gives a singular style to his unique pieces.
