ALFRED was born in Grenoble. He lives in Bordeaux. Self-taught, he started at Éditions Delcourt at the end of the 1990s (Abraxas, La Digue). In 2000, he met David Chauvel with whom he directed a youth series: Octave. Since then, they have collaborated regularly on collective works such as Paroles sans Papiers (2007) or Première fois (2008). In 2005, he started the series Le Désespoir du singe (Delcourt) on a screenplay by Jean-Philippe Peyraud. A year later, he published Why I killed Pierre (Delcourt) with Olivier Ka, who received the Audience Prize and the Essential Prize at Angoulême in 2007. In 2009, he published Je mourrai pas gibier (Delcourt), an adaptation of novel by Guillaume Guéraud, before settling in Venice for three years. During this period, he illustrated several youth albums and began to write Come Prima. In 2013, he completed and published Come Prima, the most personal album, of which he is the complete author. The album received the Fauve d'Or for Best Album at the 2014 Angoulême festival.
