Jorg Brauer

Jörg Bräuer was born in Germany in 1966. He is a graduate of the Fine Arts program of the Fashion Institute of Technology (New York) and of the London College of Printing.

He discovered his passion for photography and painting at the age of 16 when he started to learn, just for fun, traditional printing techniques in the dark room. Today, he uses the same techniques he learned the first years, but improved and combined with contemporary photography methods; this is how he creates images that reveal the nature of the themes he explores.

He favors architecture, landscape and still life photography. His subtlety seems to reveal the delicate beauty of the mysterious and magic world around us. His images have a great pictorial quality, exposing the smallest details through depth and contrast; his compositions show his innate sense of the relationship between light and form. His work has often been described as poetic and, as time went by, his stylistic sensitivity has shown its strengths in the content and the artistic elegance of his images.

Jörg Bräuer started his career as a graphic designer at the Pentagram design studio in New York. After returning to Europe, he lived in London and Barcelona. In 2009, he moved to Brussels where he co-founded byNOW, a creative association specialized in the elaboration of complex communication solutions. He has received numerous international prizes for his work.
