Known for his sublime forests, Michael Lange is a German artist who has been practicing photography since the late 1970s. He lives in Hamburg.
His photographic fiber embraces an aesthetic worthy of German romantic poets. After three years of strolling in the German forests, Michael Lange signed a series endowed with a refinement of high flying. The excess, added to the darkness, impresses, as much as it spells. He seizes the silence and leaves a mystery unfathomable. Nature, clothed with striking beauty, borders on the anthropomorphic character. The photographer plays the mythification of the forest, a place crystallizing our buried anguishes, or our primitive dreams. Between myth and reality, what is the place today of a space uncontaminated by civilization? How can we rediscover the poetic, virgin and disinterested gaze of childhood?
