Presentation

Harald Kroner is a German artist who could be described as a "paper artist", and who creates mainly pieces on paper and collages. His work also involves public facilities. He lives and works in Pforzheim (Germany). Harald Kroner studied at the Academy of Art and Design of Stuttgart with Rudolf Schoofs, where he graduated in 1990.

Harald Kroner works exclusively with paper, of which he is a notorious collector, whether it is artist paper, printed sheets or papers collected from dailylife, and he transforms it in drawings and collages.
His compositions are created mainly with colored ink, and he sometimes uses dyes, lacquer, sprays and enamel in his creative process.
The lines, which are very present in his work, can be the result of a pencil stroke, a cut, the edge of a torn. paper, ink smears or the borders of the papers of a collage in his canvases. Luck plays a main role in his work, which explores the limit between danger and control, between order and chaos.

Harald Kroner's pieces focuses mainly on the perception and the transition of the visible and invisible, where color influences and paints the drawings, where a line is transformed in a rhythm or a song, where the complex and surprising combination of elements creates a harmony that is only visible to the viewer.
The reminiscence of Asiatic traditions is also reflected in Kroner's work with the use of ink suggerating spontaneity and freedom with rigor and conciseness.
Languages, writting fonts and litterature are also a main source of inspiration for him, particularly for his public facilities.

His pieces can be found among various German public collections as well as in private international collections in Germany, Switzerland, France, Australia and the United States. Harald Kroner has done a lot of solo and group exhibitions in Germany. He has also participated in various art fairs such as Drawing Now in Paris and at the Korean International Art Fair.
