Born in 1961 - India
Sadashiv Soma Mashe was born in Ganjad, Maharashtra in 1961. He is the eldest son of one of the most renowned Indian tribal artists, Jivya Soma Mashe. Sadashiv has also had his work shown in many countries and has stayed in Japan on several occasions.
In addition to passing on knowledge of the legends and stories of the Warli, as he did to all his sons, Jivya also passed on his skills to Sadashiv. The son’s painting style is similar to that of the father, in the same way as those of master and pupil were in the past.
In 2014, Sadashiv completed seven mural paintings for the new building of the India House at the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris.
