Born in 1968 - Iran
Born in 1968 in Lahydjan, Ahmad Nejad is an Iranian painter. He lives and works in Paris.
Since a young age, he was passionate about art and took some art courses before joining the School of Fine Arts. Once graduated, he did numerous private and public commands in his hometown and his region. In parallel to his own artistic researches, he exhibited his work in several Iranian art galleries and taught drawing and painting.
in 1998, he settled in Paris. The city was the cause for an important change in his work, pushing him to start doing installations, videos, and reliefs. His work is today a very personal combination of the Persian culture and the Western conceptual art. In order to create, he gets inspired on different phases of his life and in what he has learned from them. In order recognize them and understand them, Ahmad Nejad trusts his senses, that guide him toward an uncertain future, which is full of opportunities.
His pictorial work is characterized by a focus in color and material, which plays a major role in Persian art. He often adds phrases or words from the poems he writes. His installations differ from his paintings, by the powerful message he add to them. In his pieces called "Globes Terrestres" and "Globe Terrestre Dégonflé" the artist shows us a new perspective of our modern world.
