Born in 1943 - Ireland
Born in 1943 in Belfast, Brian Ballard is an Irish artist. He currently lives and works between Belfast and the Isle of Innisfree.
He studied fine arts at the School of Art of Belfast and Liverpool. The artist paints still life and landscapes in a simplified style. He gets inspired by objects and people from his daily life such as a vase of flowers, an sculpture or a person passing by, in order to create pieces completely connected with contemporary life.
What characterizes Brian Ballard's work is his intense work on color that makes his canvas vibrate. With a meticulous and dynamic brush stroke, he creates color contrast and effects in the material. His proficiency of the brush and knife technique allows him to create powerful pieces. He creates the perfect harmony between color and shape.
