Presentation

Claudio Missagia was born in 1959. Since twenty years now, this Italian painter has been completely devoted to his passion. He lives and works in Venice, his homeland and South of France.

After having obtained a diploma in Economics, Claudio Missagia turned towards painting and began wandering around Venice to find some inspiration. Currently, his creations revolve around still life, apples, oranges, lemons and all kinds of fruits.

Claudio Missagia doesn't stick to one type of art, he also makes collages as it gives his images a fragmented look. His favorite themes and patterns for paintings and collages are carpets, old documents, letters and cards.

His rather figurative paintings are famous due to their strokes and shades, which give the painting an unfinished look. His canvas is like a patina, due to the mixed technique on canvas jute.
