Born in 1987 - Italy
Michele Bulgherini is an Italian artist born in Rome, in 1987. He became passionate for contemporary dance and piano at an early age.
At the age of 19, Michele Bulgherini decided to moved to New York where he integrated two of the most famous dancing schools of the city; Alvin Ailey and Cunningham. Back in Rome some years later, he started studying at the IED (European Institute of Design) and continued practicing dance alongside his studies. In 2011 he moved to Paris and devoted himself solely to painting and drawing.
In his plastic works, we can see his passion for contemporary dance and his interest for the complexity of human relations, reflected. In his drawings, Michele Bulgherini brings to life bodies that touch, clash and blend: bodies which dance on the paper no more and no less!
Michele Bulgherini's work is mostly simplistic, without shadows or reflections, they create the impression of a simple platform, without any volume or perspective. His life in Paris remains a unfailing source of inspiration for Michele Bulgherini, for this real artist of art and live performances, human connection with his own body is essential and undoubtedly his main source of inspiration.
