Hirotoshi Itoh

Born in 1964 - Japan

Born in 1964, Hirotoshi Itoh aka Jiyuseki is a Japanese sculptor.

He did an artistic training in Tokyo at the National Fine Arts University, but while he was studying and involved in the family masonry business, he simultaneously began rock carving.

Hirotoshi Itoh is a true magician: from basic stones, he is able to create all kinds of objects, ranging from a purse to food, from a t-shirt to a deck of cards. A total and unsettling illusion. The stones come alive in a surprising yet humorist manner. He found his signature in the zipper, as it gives depth and resonance to his treasures.
