Born in 1955, Mizuho Koyama is a Japanese artist currently living in Tokyo.
Mizuho Koyama dedicated his life to the study of the Japanese calligraphy Shodo. In an exploration of her own artistic expression, she has read, listened and observed a lot the details included in poems and novels in order to completely integrate them in her work. She studied English poetry and other types of alphabets as well.
Mizuho Koyama gets inspired as well by graffitti writting which developed in the streets of New York and can be considered like the complete opposite of the Shodo tradition. The artist was able to create and develop a unique expression from this technique which has very strict rules.
The artist has participated in numerous Art Fairs (New York, Houston, Gent, Los Angeles etc), and has done numerous solo (Ikedaya and Kitai Gallery in Tokyo) and groups exhibitions (In Santa Monica, Buenos Aires, Brussels....)
