Born in 1955, Mizuho Koyama is a Japanese artist.
Mizuho Koyama dedicated her life to studying Japanese calligraphy, Shodo. As she explores her own artistic expression, she reads, listens and observes several details including poems, novels in order to include them in her work. She also studied English poetry and other types of alphabets.
Mizuho Koyama also draws inspiration from graffiti writing which has been developing in the streets of New York and can be considered as the extreme opposite of the Shodo tradition. The artist managed to create and develop a unique expression from this technique with strict rules.
