Born in Amman Jordan, 1938
Graduated from the Academy of fine Arts of Rome in 1958, where he lived and worked until 1970
Established the Jordan Institute of Fine Arts in 1970 and five years later became Director General of the Jordanian Department of Culture and Art; Guest Professor at the Salzburg Seminar for American Studies. In 1978; and Director of Cultural Affairs, League of Arab States in Tunis from 1980-1981
Lived in Rome and had several Exhibitions including The Biennale di Venezia, 1981-1986
Lived and worked in both Tunis and Cairo, 1988- 1989
Lived and exhibited in Moscow and St. Petersburg, 1990-2001
Professor in the Faculty of Art and Design, University of Jordan since 2003- Present
Durra held solo exhibitions in Rome, London, The USSR, Washington DC, Palazzo Venezia of Rome, the 1986 Venice Biennale, and more. Recently he held solo exhibitions in Moscow, St. Petersburg, The Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts, and the Austrian Parliament Center Hall in Vienna
His work is represented in international collections, including that of the Vatican, the Imperial Court of Japan, David Rockefeller, the Jordan National Gallery of Fine arts, Fanemay Bank in Washington DC, Bonn City Hall, Washington DC City Hall , the University of San Francisco, Georgetown University, and Brown University.
