Born in 1985 - Lebanon
After graduating from secondary education with a major in mathematics in 2003, Joseph Kfoury moved to Paris where he later received his Masters degree in Transportation Design at Creapole-ESDI following an internship at the French car company, Peugeot.
Soon after, Joseph Kfoury received a scholarship for a second MA from the Scuola Politecnica di Design (SPD) in Milan, including a year-long apprenticeship at Automobili Lamborghini where he was tasked with developing new categories and exploring new design languages for the prestigious Italian sports cars manufacturer.
After his seven years in Europe, Joseph returned to Lebanon where he ventured into product design and interior architecture at White sur White (a Beirut based multi-disciplinary design and innovation company), while simultaneously developing his own bespoke automotive brand and a high-end furniture line with Squad.
His studio aims to draw in all those finding themselves dissatisfied with the rampant status quo, and explores new ways to transcend the mundane and banal, envisioning a new class of design that engages its viewer on more than just the visual level, blurring the line between the tangible and the conceptual, reality and fantasy.
Finding such a balance is at the heart of the studio’s design philosophy: “Paradoxical equilibrium”.
