Stijn Rietman is a Dutch painter, born in 1979 in Drachten. He studied at Minerva Academy of Art in Groningen and graduated in 2006. After his diploma, he received the Stipendium Dooyewaard,which gave him an artist studio for six months.
His works capture mere sensitive details from our reality. They range from tiny to ordinary, animal to consumption objects, from portraits to landscape, the artist enhances these subjects.
Since 2006, Stijn Rietman's works have been exhibited in galleries and his country but also abroad. He has exhibited in Spain, Germany and during the contemporary Art Paris fair in 2016. in 2016, he also won the Gerrit van Houten Atelierprijs.
