BIOGRAPHY

Bram Braam was born in the Netherlands in 1980. Today he lives and work in Berlin. The artist graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Den Bosch and has also studied communication and design at the University of Sint Lucas.

Bram Braam focuses on the spatial and sculptural rendering of his installations. Through his work, he tries to propose new experiences to his spectators, based on a new perception of space and time, the construction of our environment or even our idea of reality. Bram Braam likes observing the urban development, he is fascinated by the innovative aspect of the towns and the inconvenience it means.

His work is influenced by the constructivist movement, De Stijl, Bauhaus and the work of Le Corbusier. He often discusses about the strict and controlled architectural planning theme, and the destiny of monuments that become places of memory.

Bram Braam exhibits in many international galleries of which Frank Taal Gallery Rotterdam, Another space Kopenhagen, Import Projects Berlin, Kunsthalle Deutsche Bank Berlin, P/ART Hamburg, Stedelijk Museum Den Bosch SMS, B-art Seelevel Gallery Amsterdam, Kreuzberg Pavillion Berlin, Freies Museum Berlin, Rijkswaterstaat Maastricht, Minimal Gallery Chiang Mai.

In 2011, he won the Jung-Art prize of Berlin and integrated an artist residence to participate in the Homebase project in Berlin. He was supported by many foundations of which the Mondriaan Foundation in Netherlands.
