BIOGRAPHY

Stephen Bambury is a New Zealand artist born in 1951 in Christchurch, New Zealand. He lives and works in Auckland (New Zealand).

From 1972 to 1975 he studied fine arts at the University of Auckland.

He received the "Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council" scholarship two times, in 1979 and in 1983.

In 1980 he went on study trip in North America and then returned to the US several times between 1984 and 1987.

In 1987 he has a residency at the Victoria College in Melbourne (Australia) and then Champagne-Ardenne (France).

Between 1989 and 1992 he lives in Paris.

His work is published for the first time in 2000.
