Born in 1975 in Elverum, Hans Kristian Riise is a Norwegian photographer. He worked in Los Angeles, Naples and Norway. He currently lives in Oslo.

Hans Kristian Riise began his career by taking pictures in the streets, and focusing on urban areas. Recently, the artist turned towards big format portraits, using a 4x5'' camera.

In his project "The Fjords", he manages to capture the unique atmosphere of his everyday life, but also his trips along the West Norwegian coast.

In order to realize this series, Hans Kristian Riise draws inspiration from Norwegian landscape painters from the 19th Century. He creates timeless paintings.

Hans Kristian Riise also works for the world of cinema, television sitcoms, documentaries and advertisements.
