Born in 1973 - Peru
Juan-Carlos Zeballos Moscairo is a Peruvian painter born in 1973.
He first studied art at the National University of Saint Augustine in Peru before going to the Federal University of Pernambuco in Brazil.
Juan-Carlos Zeballos Moscairo gets his inspiration from everyday life, from which he generates sketches at first. From there, or sometimes from memory, he composes rich and complex pieces. The influence of street art and graffiti is strongly perceived throughout his work.
Juan-Carlos Zeballos Moscairo studies human behaviour and tries to understand each and every sensory experience in order to transcribe them in a canvas. His artistic style is characterized by a mix of symbols and letters with classical pictorial gestures. The use of color in his art is very important for him, it allows him to mark down different beats thanks to shading and degrading.
He often does collages using torn paper that used to be advertisements, which he then retouches using paint. Juan-Carlos Zeballos Moscairo wonders about the opposition between the construction and destruction of modern icons.
His works of art are exhibited in numerous international galleries. Since the beginning of his career, he has received eight international awards for his painting.
