Presentation

Anna Kunka-Kawelczyk is a Polish painter, born in 1980. After graduating from Lodz Fine Art School in 2005, she studied painting with professor R. Hunger and graphic arts with professor A. Bartczak.

As an artist with a unique style, Anna Kunka-Kawelczyk places the human being in the centre of her artistic practice, representing both moments of joy and of sadness. Light and shade are worked to bring confusion to the canvas, making it difficult for the viewer to perceive the emotions of her subjects: because human beings are never completely happy or completely sad. The shaded and light areas intermingle; our pain is often interwoven with fortuitous bright periods, and this makes up the picture of life.
