Born in 1981 - Poland
Marta Kunikowska-Mikulska is a Polish painter, born in 1981.
She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz, where she took graphic art and painting lessons. She received her diploma in graphic designing at the studio of lithography techniques with professor Witold Warzywoda in 2005. Her works have been displayed in several exhibitions in Poland and abroad.
The artist is fascinated by anything that is ancient: beliefs, myths, symbols, customs. The theme of village is quite common in her work. Marta is always on the look out for new archaic or mysterious patterns. Simultaneously, she dedicates some of her work to the modern man as she thinks he's lost in modernity.
