Alexander Bagrat was born in 1982 in Moscow, in a family of Armenian origin. At the age of 16 he moved to the US to study at the Art Institute of Los ANgeles, and then at the Parsns School of Design in New York.
Present in numerous collections in France and abroad, Alexander Bagrat drew the attention of the painter Pierre Soulages in 2010. His erotic artworks on kraft paper are very appreciated by collectors. The contemporary expressionism of his nudes (feminine and masculine) are representative for his visceral, raw and unsettling art.
