Blaž Kutin is a self-taught filmmaker and abstract photographer born in 1970 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. He has a degree in ethnology and sociology. Since 2009, he lives and works in Berlin where he did a feature film.

Blaž Kutin is a renowned and award-winning filmmaker and screenwriter, author of the script for "Gravity" (2002) and the screenplay for "Lara" for which he won the European Union Award for New Talents MEDIA at the Cannes Film Festival, in 2007. He has also directed a few short films and a feature film "We Never Been in Venice" (2008), which received the special Prize of the Jury at the Winelands Festival in 2009.

Blaž Kutin started doing abstract photography in 2009. His art became much closer to painting and was inspired by the urban landscapes of Berlin. What he seeks for is not to accurately depict the subject but rather to transcribe the feelings emitted by the image through the freedom of the individual interpretation conferred by abstract art.

Blaž Kutin has exhibited his work in Berlin, London and New York.
