Almalé y Bondía

Exploring the mechanisms of perception that build the landscape is the central issue of the common project that in 2002 united Javier Almalé (Zaragoza, 1969) and Jesús Bondía (Zaragoza, 1952). With academic training in Fine Arts and photography, Javier Almalé and Jesús Bondía began to develop the common project based on photography, ephemeral installation and video, being selected that same year at the Arco de ABC stand. In 2005 they received the Isabel de Portugal Grand Prize for Photography and the Plastic Arts acquisition prize from UNED. After a few years of analyzing the landscape and its representation, they exhibited with the Galería Spectrum Sotos de Zaragoza in Estampa, MadridFoto and Arco. In 2006 they once again obtained an Honorable Mention at the ABC de Arco stand, and it was in 2010 that they received different awards such as the Bienal de Artes Plásticas Ciudad de Pamplona, Bienal de Artes Plásticas. Unicaja and the Ramón J. Sender Prize for Plastic Expression. In 2011 they began to work with the Astarté Gallery in Madrid presenting the project "In situ" for PhotoEspaña in the same gallery and they won the prestigious FUNDACIÓN AENA Photography award, that same year they were finalists for the V International Prize for Contemporary Photography "Pilar Citoler" . With the Astarté gallery they develop various projects at fairs such as JustMad5 in Madrid, ArtSantander 2013, ArtLisboa´12, MIA Art Fair in Milan, Scoop´12 in Bassel, Fotofever´12 in Brussels, Fotofever´11 in Paris, and it is in 2014 when They began to work in addition to ASTARTÉ in Madrid, with the Carolina Rojo Gallery in Zaragoza and Martín Mertens in Berlin.
