Rafael Navarro started his practice in 1968 and since then has been working on the human body and its reflections, seeking to emphasize a beauty resulting from the meeting of an idea and a sensation.
Through the eyes of Rafael Navarro, we are the witnesses of the development of Spanish photography but we also have the privilege to understand how the photographer can create a landscape starting from the human body.
His work has two main directions that, at first sight, seem to be common but are actually distinct. The first is the study of women's forms, and the second one is the play and the mastery of the light and the shadow obtained from the first.
The presence of his work in collective shows, together with the most famous personalities of the artistic international scene, has not resulted in Spain in the establishing, yet to be done, of photography as an artistic language.
