Javier Mariscal Errando was born in Valencia in 1950. He has been living and working in Barcelona since 1970.

During the 80's, he came up with many designs for the Marieta and Modas collections and exhibited at the Vincon boutique in Barcelona (closed since 2015). in 1989, his work "Cobi" was selected as the mascot for the Olympic games of Barcelona in 1992. This brought along a lot of controversy during its publication, however today, it is considered to be one of the most famous mascots of the game. Cobi was taken up to create a cartoon called "The Cobi Troupe".

In 2010, Javier presented a retrospective of his work at La Pedrera, which was visited by more the 150,000 people. He followed this by publishing a work with his "Chico&Rita" illustrations, edited by Sins Entido, which was also turned into an animated movie in 2011.

Since 2014, he is a member of the university and teaches design at the Santander Cesine center.
