Born in 1954 - Spain
Juan Uslé was born in Santander, Spain in 1954. He graduated from the Fine Arts School of San Carlos Valence. Today, he lives and works between Saro and New York.
His work is a lot like abstract painting. Through this, he is able to put together intellectual and emotional procedures. Loneliness is his ally. His creation follows his own beat, a poetic and musical impetus. For his «Soñé que revelabas » series, he created his canvases at the break of down and sketched out dark shades, in the light of his heartbeat.
His paintings have been exhibited in key European galleries and museums since 1981, in Madrid, Boston, Bilbao, Amsterdam, Zurich, London...He received several awards from the Spanish Ministry of culture for the young artists in 1980, the research grant of new forms of expressions, granted by the ministry of culture in 1982, the national visual arts prize in 2002.
